I graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in secondary education (mathematics / computer science) as well as Siena Heights University where I received my Master’s of Arts degree in middle level education.

I am privileged to coach the BD girls basketball teams. I graduated from Britton High School in 1974 and returned ‘home’ to Britton in 2018 after retiring from teaching Sport Management and Physical Education courses at Geneva College (PA).

Hello, I’m Austin Hyatt.  I graduated from Britton-Macon in 2010 where I was a captain of the first Britton-Deerfield boys basketball team.  I graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology as well as a Master of Science in Administration degree.  I currently reside in Britton and work as a Human Resources Manager in the steel industry.  In the off-season, I enjoy traveling, golfing, exploring with my dog, and staying active. 

Hello, I’m Erik Johnson the Athletic Director, Head Football Coach and Physical Education/Health teacher here at Britton Deerfield Schools.

I’m an Eastern Michigan University Graduate. My grandmother was a secretary for Deerfield schools from 76-2000.

Hello! My name is Ella Nighswander and I am a graduate of Britton Deerfield Schools. I was a three sport athlete while in high school and made so many fun memories. I then went to Adrian College to get my Elementary Education degree and now teach Third Grade in another local district. I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, skiing, and reading. 

I grew up in Ypsilanti, Michigan on a curvy hill called Snow Road. I have many wonderful memories of that small house that was full of love, excitement, and joy. I now reside in Milan, Michigan, which is about 20 minutes south of Ypsilanti.

I am the proud coach of the BD Patriots Boys Basketball team.  I grew up and live in Britton, Michigan.  I have been coaching high school basketball at Britton/Deerfield since 1996.
